Swimming Lessons In Divergent Currents and Deconstruction

Deconstruction As Resistance

One thing leads to another in the genome of associations inasmuch as the post before this posed the questioning of how we as a nation, define progress and then prior to that in reflecting on my own life in relation to the death of my mother and the valuations that only arrive by hindsight, toward her, toward the historical world, both of which at times seem to lack an anchor in balancing where the boundaries are between what we presume to be our own and what is imposed upon us in the exterior and historical world.

We seem to be book ended between simultaneous and parallel universes. Between the invisible world of consciousness which we only observe by effect, the present by it’s relationship to the past, the referential illusions of time by comparison, the material semiotics of language transposed to our stereotyping of what defines reality, other’s views of ourselves, our own distorted lack of honesty in avoiding what we are not in personal terms, etc, etc.

All of this seemingly has an architecture that requires deconstruction, which, perhaps not surprisingly ,the same deconstructive behaviors are present in anomalous subject matter where we are forced to take apart what we assume we do know and make an attempt to view all the constituent facets of it's manifestation in unique ways. The issue is also fraught with our own orientation, which then also requires deconstruction, a necessary activity that is nearly always overlooked.

The Hunter As The Prey

At times it strikes me as absolutely surreal that self defined ghost hunters in search of phantoms might be phantoms in of themselves if we fall back upon the Buddhist concept  of the most apt description of the aggregate sum of our species state is that of “hungry ghosts”
Perhaps we exist in a state wherein the state of Detroit is a metaphor of dissolution and outsized exaggerations of what defines success, as something we can drive when there is no one in the driver’s position, everyone is responsible so no one is as a further metaphor of the reality behind the idealism that we term democracy, and yet that very same illusion seems to inhabit me when I catch a glimpse of it. The imaginary me versus me. A self projection as an act of creation, and where does this lead?

I have a friend who is a psychologist who specialises in psychological profiling in forensic work addressing homicide cases as well as treating chemical dependencies who considers compulsive addictions to be a chief characteristic of the human species and in one of  our conversations, I suggested his view was not that far afield from that of the Sufi spiritual perspective who often use a the image of a tavern to anchor human psychology.

Specifically, the spiritual spectrum of that runs from the state of ecstasy to the state of sobriety.
Then there is the other variant termed a state of poverty which corresponds to that of “hungry ghosts” in that our existence is as far from being autonomous as the mind can conceive and that the very  isthmus we occupy requires that everything be provided for us, from air, to water, to food to..well, I am sure you catch the drift as did I.

In Islam, they have the twin metaphors of the pen and the tablet which infers that duality is defined as a transpersonal dynamic as much as alternating current, what Gurdjieff called the affirming, denying and reconciling forces that directly correspond to the principles of electricity, which could be taken in another light as energy=information therefore there must be a tensioning of opposing states to create anything..becoming rather than simply being.

Pushing Back When Pulled

All of the above led me to a conclusion while not written in stone that suggests to me an advocacy of swimming upstream as a way of life..pushing against the pull.
When I think about this anticipatory intent, it is a intentional tensioning of oneself which I doubt is hereditary that may explain what evolves and what does not in a human context as well as in the sense of what constitutes the intent of progress or more accurately, the possibility, however remote this might be in any verifiable manner and yet if we measured the amount of sources that are pulling from parallel directions in a societal sense and community sense, the agents that want to pull us downstream seem to be on the increase if we compare the amount of sources that, say, existed even a decade ago, which would go along way toward explaining the velocity of our natural environment’s ongoing dissolution and the roaring silence that has been the response.

So then I ask..how much have I pushed back, resisted the velocity of the river current?

Not enough.

Self Skepticism

Ask yourself the question I posed from where I am..Is self doubt and self skepticism necessarily a bad thing?
Here in the U.S this exercise seems to be looked upon as a weakness and because of this, it seems to me, that we have a sort of institutionalized form of denial that operates on a succeed or fail duality
The again, self skepticism itself is a form of deconstruction and closing that door as a means of opportunity as led the natural world to the brink of nearly complete extinction. Yet, one could look at this topic as a footnote, whereas I look at it as the story itself as applied to nearly every aspect of life as we assume we know it, hence this post, which is about everything and nothing in particular as I wrote in the beginning, one thing leads to another in a process of associations.

Swimming Lessons

It seems at this juncture the best metaphor I can come up with as a summarily tentative conclusion is that we are born into divergent rivers and proverbial streams which desire to carry us this way or that way, and that perhaps the reason we have been thrown into the water is to learn how to swim.

Vanishing America: A Once and Future Community

What Is Progress?

And yes, my concerns go beyond the metaphysical...

"Progress is our most important product"
-General Electric

The last episode of Parts Unknown is posted at the end of this essay for those who may share the same premonition this author shares with the no holds barred opinion in Anthony Bourdain's forensic dissection of Detroit, that encompasses community and the ruins of Empire......or the ruminations on the stark black and white images of David Plowden recording what was once our collective community, as imperfect as it was, being on a more human scale.
What Plowden and Bourdain document is the metamorphosis occurring under the nose of a society that is narrowly focused on increasing productivity at the cost of it's humanity, just as science has sapped the compass of consciousness in regard to remorse.
Who are we collectively?
The answer to that seems wrested from us covered over with the sort of commercialism that smacks of colonialism, exploitation and a lack of value toward any hope of a sustainable Empire that will do anything under any circumstance to promote progress as long as it is in our interest first, all others are politically secondary..under the purview of the NSA.
Progress..what is it and toward what?
Is it the spate of self congratulatory television commercials by Walmart and British Petroleum extolling their own virtues as they dropped the ball?
Bourdain's program focuses on food not for the sake of food but how it serves as a shared experience that may also serve a more important function, the bringing together of family and community life and this program I have posted is a study as contrasted as the saturation levels of Plowden's use of a monochromatic palette.
To use a weak pun, it is all food for thought.

David Plowden is a name few are familiar with and like many an artist, he remains a keen observer as a visual diarist of what was a disappearing America. This certainly sounds like an odd statement as if the landscape that surrounds us had become enveloped in a sort of low lying fog, admidst the bustle and frantically hectic hive of expressways, franchised conformity and ceaseless signal noise that seems to crowd out any reflection or meaningful rumination that would stand still long enough to measure what has been gained and what is now irretrievably past, in the landscape of society and culture. Information as a commodity to be processed, manipulated and sold in the marketplace versus one to one relationships in a more easily understood scale perhaps translates into a nostalgia for a more human sized scale, a world of more diversities, languages, cultures, regionalisms that seemed to have been rolled like a pie batter into a monolithic miasma of informational schizophrenia. Kids staring at laptops, brought up on synthetic environments, the cloned and synthetic substitutions for intimacy such as Facebook, or Twitter...add to this a diet of chemically synthetic foodstuffs and more..all this seems an escape route leading to a dead heat..as it whimpers along.

One could say the question that is buried in this post is as obvious as the noses on our faces..what are we progressing toward? What is progress?

Working with one's hands, being a part of a community or profession that was more to a human scale, more art than science, more conversationally direct, a world of front porches, family businesses, remote farmsteads passed through the hands of generation after generation, full of back roads without names in an era prior to GPS, all of which measured a pace by less productivity and more time to actually ruminate..
I know the ghosts of this America that has largely vanished as I lived in it's waning decades, before the romance of a dream became a robotic predictability, with overly complex end runs around more direct relationships, such as the clerk who knew you by name, knew every nook and cranny of every shelf, who aged alongside your own family.
I came across a interview with Mr Plowden this morning and as it was said of Loren Eisley's writing, in David's work there is a vast discernment in black and white. All of which is communicated with the eye, with images that require no narration..which, in of itself, is a remarkable achievement one that has nothing to do with productivity or statistics...or consensus for that matter in terms of being praiseworthy or blameworthy, these profound images of a America that has disappeared from sight.

The Alchemical Quest of Roswell

Recently the members of a proverbial round table rooted in the metaphorical quest seeking a Holy Grail to unhinge the corruption of the land..in this case the conspiracy of technological science at the behest of militarism, naming themselves the Dream Team have announced the finding of two Kodachrome slides of a alleged "extraterrestrial" that hearkens back to the idealism that imagines a paradise of humanoid extensions of ourselves having mastered the eternity of space and time. A transcendence of  a living creature who is wise beyond our knowledge who possesses mysterious gifts as if we were viewing in a mirror a trans-positioning of ourselves into all the attributes we seemingly lack.

This tale is a metaphorical story line lodged firmly between the 15th and 21st Centuries could almost be likened to the myth made real of sacrificial kings paralleled by the series of assassinations that were strung along  leading from the Kennedy Camelot. A creature who may reform the world with great knowledge and discernment is captured by the keepers of Kafka's Castle..and summarily buried as a threat to their worldly domain of what essentially is shared between nation states and the mob...a protection racket.

Those of us who have been around this block of naive realism more than once immediately recognize that these images are circumstantial to the extent that it will only burden this dead heat of circular debate further with more detritus that has exceeded the scope of anyone to analyse it with a any form of inclusive and conclusive results.
That being recognized as a common sense premonition of where this is heading, one must ask what the anticipation is...from those who have promulgated it.
At best it keeps the topic in a state of suspension and ambiguity to the point one must ask if it is to keep the fire smoldering with the addition of more kindling, and beyond this?
I have the suspicion that the progenitors think some sort of bizarre floodgate will open, the Red Sea will part..wherein this is another cycle within a cycle of the same scenario with slight variegation.
Among quite a few individuals, this search of reliquaries seems quite cult like as an invocation.. the drawing of a pentagram on the floor, burning the right incense and intoning the right language, and an alien will pop forth.
The naive realism of this is striking as nearly everything around their circling of the wagons indicates a complete absence of order to the phenomenon that they are attempting to impose as a sort of transcendent beatification and noble act which in their minds makes them all the Green Knight. Ask yourself, what would dissuade them? Having spent decades reading metaphysical texts, it is interesting to transpose an alchemical quest to this 21st century context full of Kodachrome slides, bending metals, hieroglyphic formulas, visionary witnesses..fitted like a jigsaw puzzle into a spiritual form of idealism turning the base metals of circumstantial evidence into proverbial gold.

I am reminded of the Tarot card, the Holy Fool..who persists upon insisting the existence of an invisible world. In this case we have the whole process inverted in the opposing direction, to create the material existence of that which remains patently invisible as a truly metaphysical science of hermetics.
And so they scour the countryside until perhaps only Percival is left as the last man standing.
A very odd corollary of human nature in the material world of what elixirs we seek and for what purpose?
None that are as pragmatic as they say such reasons are.

My Mother's Death

On January 27, 1951, was a study in contrasts inasmuch as a B52 bomber dropped the first in a series of nuclear bombs onto the testing range in the desert of Nevada, while in Oak Park, Illinois, it was the dead of yet another seemingly endless winter, with no less than three consecutive days of subzero  temperatures. One page within one volume within an infinite library that is yet to be read and I suspect if all of what constitutes every life, neither entirely past nor entirely present ( let alone the future,) it is a story of velvet mixed with steel. The eternal vagaries mixed with revisions made in the present in hindsight toward the past which could be the point on which we are occupied. The root word of religion in Greek translates into a phrase...to re-link. If the rope we are suspended upon has two ends then perhaps it is tied into a Gordian knot..The butterfly effect wherein all that will be must return to it's original state and yet not one iota of that state is left as it was, as a living system, it is always under the influence of reinvention much like a genetic strand..and in this butterfly effect perhaps the present is enfolded into the past that unfolds before us like a sleight of hand..as if the future, the past, and the present are not one entity in search of itself in a mirror. The universe explores itself through us and we explore ourselves through a universe and what links the two halves of the mirror together are what we have gathered, borrowed or stolen that constitutes an ever changing genome of memory.

“I am not sure that I exist, actually. I am all the writers that I have read, all the people that I have met, all the women that I have loved; all the cities I have visited.”

― Jorge Luis Borges

The war in Korea had settled into trench warfare, and I was about to enter the world such that it was and much like it is today, a mixture of tumult and the trivial, errands and necessities, small pleasures and the unexpected.
Such that it was nearly six years earlier, as my father’s convoy made it’s way to the shores of Japan as the fleet made it’s way to what some have called the most disastrous invasion ever conceived if it had happened.
As assigned to the first wave to reach those shores, had the landing occurred, from what I understand, my birth would have never taken place has it not been for yet another nuclear weapon dropped on the unsuspecting cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The fleet was turned back, the seemingly endless war had ended, and such that it was and is, here I am typing this essay some weeks after my mother has passed away on the eve of her 87th birthday.

And so, in my own mind, my birth was intermixed with the charred corpses strewn around the rubble of those cities, and perhaps it so that the meaning of original sin is that which is yet to be reformulated in the past and perhaps this applies to a personal past, and as an aggregate sum, in the historical world and in the internal world, birth and death seem to constitute a singularity yet to be determined.

Earlier that wintry day, some 63 years ago, after experiencing false labor pains due to my reluctance to make my appearance, the benchmark of her first child, it was a waiting game that had hopscotched from the expected to the unexpected, back and forth..from the expectations of her mother to enlist her assistance in the daily care of responsibilities within a household of ten brothers and sisters, to the outbreak of war that sent her boyfriend into an exile from that life, filled with full time employment as a bookkeeper, while remaining at home, that was yet another waiting game, one transition to another.

My father remained at work at the printing shop, that day, having long since discarding his dream of being a commercial artist, for the immediate necessities of providing a home. The snow fell, the telephone calls between family members on that day signaled a community sense of anticipation amidst a day that was far from extraordinary  in the larger sense of events.

And so, my memories of a life with my mother and father began and if you look up at that third story window at that apartment that my maternal grandfather Matt had arranged, from the rented house they had occupied close to another of my father’s parents, it was a smaller world back then, closely knit and shared before my own and all such families dispersed to the four winds of what was then the remote suburban enclaves being plunked down here and there in the middle of the prairies. As I write this, the disbursement of families now has increased by the distance of physical space as if what was once gathered is now hither and yon pulled by this or that as a higher priority..and yet in the winter of 1951, looked upon as a microcosm of what was yet to be is imbued with an innocence that, in of itself, is deceiving, as it was not so, as that year was built upon the one before it, to the extent that it had a momentum of it's own that did not require us, unless we look back upon it.

What was gained and what was lost, in the rapid movement of those times, remains unaccounted for except by my own memories and those shared with me by my mother. As it was, so it is.

I vividly remember the neighborhood grocery with it’s tight aisles and tall shelves, of the smell of fresh rye bread and Polish pastries as well as an equally vivid memory of obeying her strict command as there I am posted at the window watching for her exit from that store across the street, my face pressed up against the window.

On summer days riding my tricycle up and down, back and forth in front of that apartment building while she sat on the stoop keeping an eye on me.

Those simple things and their memories remain alive in me, like our journeys down the sidewalks of a crowded Oak Park and Cicero, to visit the park full of swing sets, noise and bustle, or lunches at the local greasy spoon long before the advent of franchised food, from which we were banned after I threw up there more than once..
My poor mother took me to the showing of Pinocchio after a trip to the concession stand, the lights dimmed and there we sat in that flickering light until the whale appeared and I instantaneously had a panic attack to the extent she had to  flee with myself in tow.

Small vignettes of what now seems an extraordinarily naive childhood which was a gift that remains with me, in spite of my own haphazard transit of triumphs and calamities over the span of over a half century since that time, I see her there undiminished, with bright eyes full of gossip and laughter, answering the crank call of our downstairs neighbor who could not stand our little gang of kids running up and down the back porch balconies.

There she was and there she is and I fully expect to find myself in the midst of my first memories of her once again, there in Cicero, once I depart from my overly complex entanglements in this life.

Christmas at Fields, the Lake Street El, the radio shows always in the background of my time in that apartment, lying on the floor with my circle of track, watching my small tin train make circles around the Christmas tree..small, small things that can well tears from the corner of my eye from what I am called now.. an old man.
That is my small resort, my safe haven always with my mother close by which I have absolutely no compunctions toward admitting from my position now at 63, was my version of a heaven, one to which I will return sooner rather than later.

I could not say goodbye to her and did not attend her funeral as she remains with me, and there is no need for the insertion of a formal finality into the continuum in which I reside, where the past is melded into the present, and so I can imagine and suspect that this aspect of her passing is only transitory, and I will be seated in that trike ,legs pumping away at the pedals on that summer day I shared with her, once again as my ashes sit like a kitchen commodity in a jar.

In this perhaps none of us are immune from the self comforting concept that all things have a beginning, a middle and an end.

In this life nor the next, we are the stuff of memory as a genome that cannot be erased once it has been fashioned and so what has been manifested sits atop what has considered past that remains embedded in a location we can scarce imagine. I am there now as I am here writing of her passing..it can be no other way such that I can hear her voice, it’s nuances as clearly as I can my hear my own internal voice setting this account with this recording

The linearity of life remains a wheel within a wheel that comes full circle, and what was returns to it’s original state while what has been fashioned moves further afield..that one can be in two places at once, perhaps countless varieties remains hidden except from with the provinces of the mind.

“Child, child, have patience and belief, for life is many days, and each present hour will pass away. Son, son, you have been mad and drunken, furious and wild, filled with hatred and despair, and all the dark confusions of the soul - but so have we. You found the earth too great for your one life, you found your brain and sinew smaller than the hunger and desire that fed on them - but it has been this way with all men. You have stumbled on in darkness, you have been pulled in opposite directions, you have faltered, you have missed the way, but, child, this is the chronicle of the earth. And now, because you have known madness and despair, and because you will grow desperate again before you come to evening, we who have stormed the ramparts of the furious earth and been hurled back, we who have been maddened by the unknowable and bitter mystery of love, we who have hungered after fame and savored all of life, the tumult, pain, and frenzy, and now sit quietly by our windows watching all that henceforth never more shall touch us - we call upon you to take heart, for we can swear to you that these things pass.”
― Thomas Wolfe, You Can't Go Home Again.

What the heart knows, the mind will not believe.

Quantified Akashic Records?

"Information and computation form the bedrock of the reality, say physicists who have used this idea to derive quantum mechanics"

https://medium.com/the-physics-arxiv-blog/4487489dbb34

In a previous post regarding the Janus face of ghost phenomenon from UFO sightings to that of former human beings being potentially one and the same having a unique energy signature that is entangled with human consciousness, here is another example regarding the reception of energy as information, that may be connected to a plenum, or library that represents a self organizing system that has a genome of information that once created cannot be taken back or erased which certainly has implications regarding what remains after the event of death as it concerns us.

The input of anticipation in what could be called intent in terms of the questions asked during EVP explorations could be a provebial Google search engine. Is this the equivilence of the metaphysical, so called " akashic records" – akasha being a Sanskrit word meaning "sky", "space" or "aether" – are described as containing all knowledge of human experience and all experiences as well as the history of the cosmos encoded or written in the very aether or fabric of all existence.

Is this the nature of what we term eternity?

SSE Issue 16 of Edge Science Now Available

http://www.scientificexploration.org/edgescience/

Imagination And A Singularity of Being Toward Becoming

Is consciousness a form of dark matter that is a singularity?

That possibility remained with me after waking this morning from a strange dream that was striking. We take it for granted that consciousness is individuated due to the nature of how  it is expressed, but  as I have learned from experience taking any critical presumption at it's face value is fraught with inconvenient holes through which all sorts of exceptions enter to play havoc with the self comforting notion that some factoids are irreversible, that the behavior of experiential reality is written in stone like commandments.
The question that this dream \ simulation posed is the potential existence of a state wherein consciousness in all of it's forms is not individuated in species or by expression, rather it is a ground level zero point form of dark matter that seeks expression in formulating questions in as many means possible to determine what it may be. by the use of a materialized mirror as an isthmus of self reflection through as many recombinant observers as unalike from one another as possible to create as many forms of reference as possible.

All of this could be likened to the reciprocating levers and drivers of a reciprocating locomotive differentiating evolution and by doing so, this dark matter expands it's own knowledge of what it may be.

If this dream had to be named, I would probably call it the root of expression.
As far as our own shared orientation that we, in turn share with other species the most apt image I can muster is that of a tree which in it's existence ,bridges two modal realms of soil and atmosphere while belonging exclusively in it's grounding to neither environment of sustenance.

Of course, all living things can be classified by what they eat and what they are eaten by, but this morning , in terms of our own species, I ponder that what I experience is food for a ground zero form of singular consciousness, that as a dark matter only on the surface of these matters, appears to metamorphose it's forms of expression as a variegated multiplexed, sphere of observational eyes and ears that attempt to seek a coherence we can scarce imagine, that comes to me as imaged by the form of a geodesic frame.
Are we too hung up on modality versus it's root of expression? One language versus another and yet they all convey the same information as an expression using differentiated pointillism.

Once again, I seem to be travelling along some mysterious pathway to a far land of less limited possibilities in terms of their consideration, all brought forth from image-synthesis or plainly put the strange gift of imagination that can reconfigure them. Once again I am reminded that the term of imagination is used almost exclusively to denote fantasies. Yet, there is a core and what I believe to be a core foundation parallel to evolutionary processes. One could ask from whence geodesic mathematics arose?

Imagination seems to be a chess game where the markers are not only moved but the squares themselves are reoriented to provide the aforementioned expansion of the points from which we can observe. I do not think for a moment that imagination is simply fantasy.Imagination helps make knowledge applicable in solving problems and is fundamental to integrating experience and developmental learning processes. A basic training for imagination that is relegated to a low valuation is to absord stories  in which the exactness of the chosen words is the fundamental factor to "evoke worlds".It is a whole cycle of image formation or any sensation which may be described as "hidden" as it takes place without anyone else's knowledge.
Indeed.

Multiple Timelines As Divergent Realities

Can human remote viewing as an exploration of trans-personal and non local energy as a database of information in a quantum plenum predict as well as observe?

Perhaps so.

Penny Lane In The Biology of Expressions Rooted In Information

"Behind the shelter in the middle of a roundabout
A pretty nurse is selling poppies from a tray
And though she feels as if she's in a play
 She is anyway.."

More fuel to the fire that burns without heat..in regard to Jacques Vallee's ground breaking lecture at TED which outlined the roots of coincidence regarding the basis of organic life being an expression of genomic information made three dimensional to the eye, that indirectly suggests parallel dimensions of a similar expression in ourselves as well as existing as an extension that exists without us, at the isthmus of experiential observation..neither completely flesh nor  completely information but a hybridised expression of the word made flesh..to use a 2,000 year old expression..perhaps it is more art than rigorous architecture..as Paul Kimball has suspected, that animates the mirror we occupy.

http://www.amazon.com/The-Other-Side-Truth-Imagination/dp/0991697502

From one of my favorite leading edge physicists, Brian Joesphson.

"It is commonly assumed that nature can be described in terms of fixed mathematical laws. However, the discovery that the Standard Model cannot be reconciled with general relativity in a straightforward way has created problems for this point of view. An alternative is Wheeler’s proposal to the effect that participation by observers, as postulated in some formulations of quantum mechanics, is the mechanism whereby physical laws emerge.
According to Wheeler, that principle might suffice to build everything.."

Then again, it was Alan Watts who suggested that  “Man suffers only because he takes seriously what the gods made for fun.” or “Problems that remain persistently insoluble should always be suspected as questions asked in the wrong way.”

http://arxiv.org/pdf/1108.4860v4.pdf

At times, when I read a paper like this or theories regarding the root of materialism being information as a form of energy expressed in spacial terms, all of this seemingly underlines the impenetrable mystery of our role in these passages and transformations inasmuch we know so little regarding our own orientation. At times it seems we are descending into a vast cavern with the pinpoint of a flashlight to guide us, and therefore nothing is in proportion to it's nature, rather we compare everything to our own nature which is sketchy at best. And yet as a contrast to this, almost as a parallel to the observer effect, our species individually is given a name, a role, a sort of stage on which to act in the light of day..like" the pretty nurse selling poppies from a tray'..

.“We seldom realize, for example that our most private thoughts and emotions are not actually our own. For we think in terms of languages and images which we did not invent, but which were given to us by our society.”
― Alan Wilson Watts

Birthdays as another invention come and go and another is rapidly approaching me counted as the 63rd of them, and yet perennial questions of what, why and wherefore remain in regard to our occupying this very bizarre position, oriented in a sort of Disneyland of sociological culture. It is not as if these questions prevail themselves as to impede as they say, my performance..and yet like the negative on a photographic film, this little flashlight peers into dim caverns and rather becoming more coherent, I seemingly have grown more humility in the face of going along to get along, like some sort of sharp rock grown smooth by the geologic passage of a torrent. A great deal of noise without content seems to grow louder every time I see a proverbial stalagmite growing in the midst of autonomic chatter arising from this Disneyland of opinions. At times, I think I resemble the fellow in this photograph, sweating under the weight of this costume I have been sewn into..Goofy the dog has got nothing on me. One could say this is a reflection of the play inherent in life.

In a similar vein, other voices, similar concepts regarding the embedding of information in living systems...

http://www.dailygalaxy.com/my_weblog/2013/10/radical-theory-says-transition-from-inorganic-to-organic-life-was-based-on-information-not-chemistry.html

Well that is all that is fit to print on my little keyboard my invisible friends out there in the equally virtual Web Land and so I am off to do errands over on Penny lane. I might bump into Mr Lennon, who seemed to get balance his walking stick on the same contradictory trajectory of surrealist tendencies while wrestling with ourselves as inhabitants of a human zoo. Yes, he was the walrus...and will remain so until I get off the bus.
Of course, the melding of music and surrealism in another place and time seems timeless inasmuch as some things never change while we come and go on our shopping trips through the biology of information...

The Janus Face of Human and Alien Ghosts

I have been saying for over a year that the ghosts of human beings and the ghosts of aliens are one in the same phenomenon that are entangled in a misplaced zoology of perception. About one year ago I listed fifteen shared characteristics between the two and yet I highly doubt that ghost like apparitions, in effect, of aliens representing their own afterlife being invasive of our own
One is macroscopic in terms of promoting the concept of evasive extraterrestrials, and the other is a microcosm of the same, being more local in it's habitations. The former is difficult to catch in the act and the other is comparatively easier to encounter. Its the oldest of human weaknesses, that is to say, to be deceived by appearances alone. What is the difference between the classic human ghost that slides through a wall and an alien that does the same? That dear reader is for you to decide..... but as for me, the difference is a mask.
If my suspicions are correct one could be examined to some extent by the other and in the case of human ghost activities there are several areas which are so simple as to be ridiculous that could be measured using the core attributes of simple logic.
Despite this opportunity, everyone assumes they are separate phenomenon due to a failure of judging only the surface of these anomalies in a manner that would make Plato blush.
The zenith of this misidentification is looking for the literal nuts and bolts of flying spaceships, when all the aggregate evidence indicates that this goofy premise is not the case. and not even in the ball park.

One of the most pronounced environmental effects of ghost activity is a extremely localized and significant drop in ambient temperatures, and yet no one has bothered to measure humidity levels in this, as any process engineer can tell you this is an effect of desiccation, or, more simply a diminished volume of water molecules in a given area.
In other words, the humidity or water vapor is being removed by a very strange sort of evaporative process that could very well be non ionizing radiation, just enough to excite these water molecules.
Another issue is the lack of coinciding detection of a low level of non ionizing radiation that would rise above a pre-established baseline as a background level..Very portable detection devices are available for this that could be hand carried.
Another chief feature of these anomalies is  the tingling sensation and raising of skin hairs indicating the presence of a static charge Removing or preventing a buildup of static charge can be as simple as opening a window or using a humidifier to increase the moisture content of the air, making the atmosphere more conductive. So again, this indicates a desiccating effect in regard to water molecules in the ambient air.

Until research stops leading itself by its own tail,  the subject will remain ensconced in a comic book of the mind. The ghosts of what we ourselves may be and the ghosts we are are projected on a flickering screen.
And so the lost seek the lost in a St Vitus Dance along deserted alleys, in deeply buried tunnels through which that we dare not speak of ourselves as inhabiting below the scrim of simple answers, a sort of Pollyana tragicomedy.

And The Point of The Exercise Is.....

Reflecting on the writing of this blog as well as reading the material posted on other websites, it seems I have moved onto a road that appears to fit every cliche regarding the content, from the path seldom taken to following the beat of my own drummer.
What seems to be occurring is that due to the fact that I have no ax to grind, or have an evangelical spin to doctor, nor a book to push, from every indication it seems the theoretical concepts contained within this blog are pushed aside, ignored or most importantly, are neither discussed, criticized or  have failed to become a dialog between this author and the larger paranormal community.
The analogy of a tree falling in the forest with no one to hear it as a definition of it's non existence, comes to mind. Consequently, I have asked myself, why bother communicating anything due to the fact its apparent that no one within this community finds it useful. I have been in the process of writing an essay on orb phenomenon, plasmas and directed energy, but then a feeling came over me that putting time and energy into this seemed counter-productive. Then  of course, there are recent events that underscore and are the foundation of this sense of purposelessness.
Another blogger has provided links to a variety of other essays and told me that no one would understand the material when he said, thanks but no thanks to my request for having others examine my essay on invisible sentience in relation to UFO phenomenon.
Two published authors told me they would be in contact with me after I approached them to look at the material. I never heard from them again.
I have a extended essay published this month in a well known magazine devoted to paranormal subjects and yet when I forwarded this same essay on non material UFO sentience, there ensued a roaring silence.
One author said I advocated drug use which absolutely blind sided me.
I seemed to have wandered off the map into a territory that is uninhabited by others, and my writing seems to promote silence which is the opposite effect in terms of any dialog I had hoped would ensue for the sake of the subject alone.

And the point of the exercise is...................

An Electromagnetic Needle In The Thread

An EMF Coincidence In Anomalies?

In my essay regarding what I termed "Non Material Extraterrestrials" this theory suggested that EMF was a thread that connected such disparate phenomenon such as crop circles (microwave), anomalous atmospheric sound disturbances  (cymetics) as well as other aspects of a advanced nature using the same principles found all around us specifically those found in communications systems.

If this theory is correct would there be potential evidence that these unusual energy signatures create physiological effects in a close proximity to witnesses and observers as a strong possibly in relation to a broader spectrum of effects.
There are two known categories of EMF radiation. One being non ionized radiation has sufficient energy only for excitation, the movement of an electron to a higher energy state.,and the other is ionized radiation which is kinetic to the point of being a much stronger field.
Interestingly the effects of ionized radiation is relegated to the proximity of apparent anomalous vehicles while in flight, while non ionized fields appear to be confined to being in proximity to anomalous creatures rather than the stronger field that would be produced by such a vehicle. So it may be we have a correlation between the strength of these two fields and the level of exposure, which, at first glance, appears to be a match.

Is this simply coincidental, or, is there a series of clues as to the nature of these experiential anomalies yet to be determined?

Another Coincidence Atop Another?

The scientific community remains in a quandary over the effects of non ionizing radiation resulting from exposure to electromagnetic fields and the list of possible effects includes headache, eye irritation, dizziness, nausea , skin rash, facial swelling, weakness, fatigue , pain in joints  and/or muscles, buzzing/ringing in ears, skin numbness, abdominal pressure and pain, nose bleeds, breathing difficulty, and irregular heartbeat. Additional symptoms have been reported in some individuals such as paralysis, balance problems, body and/or muscle spasms, convulsions, confusion, depression , difficulty in concentrating, seizure, sleep disturbances, and memory difficulties.

In researching EMF field in relation to alleged alien abduction scenarios as well as close encounter scenarios, some common biophysical effects include paralysis, fatigue, migraine headaches, ringing in the ears, confusion,  eye and skin. irritations, nausea, difficulty in breathing sleep disturbances, electrical malfunctions in proximity to the witness and nosebleeds.
The nose bleeds are puzzling although they are cited in non fortean cases of EMF exposure, but without the necessary details for which, at the time of this writing, for which I am still searching. That being said, the closest match in terms of rcognized causes for nose bleeds are inflammatory infections

Is this connection to known physiological effects due to EMF and those of close encounters with anomalies simply to be dismissed as coincidental?

Yet,on a more accepted level within the scientific community,it is thought there may be a linkage between cell phone usage over a long period and biophysic effects on the human body, and there is an increasing  focus of genetic susceptibility to these fields. There are simply too many citations to list here concerning EMF physiological effects. One example is The American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) which released a position paper on EMF and radiofrequency (RF) health effects saying they recognize that patients are being adversely impacted by electromagnetic frequency (EMF) and radiofrequency (RF) fields and are becoming more electromagnetically sensitive.
EMF exposure has been the subject of a World Health Organization global summit regarding how to address a currently unaddressed phenomenon in relation to these effects requiring further research.

Ionized EMF Effects On Electrical Devices

Anyone who has researched unknown aerial phenomenon is familiar with another form of EMF radiation in regard to it's ionizing the local atmosphere resulting in various malfunctions of devices that utilize the same effect by tightly controlling it. This effect has been seen in the malfunctions of everything from radios, car ignition systems, battery operated devices all the way to missle control systems.
This effect is recognized by the scientific community in relation to radiation hardening which is the act of making electronic components and systems resistant to damage or malfunctions caused by ionizing radiation (particle radiation and high-energy electromagnetic radiation), such as those encountered in outer space, high-altitude flight, around nuclear reactors, particle accelerators, during nuclear accidents or nuclear warfare.
Most semiconductor electronic components are susceptible to radiation damage; radiation-hardened components are based on their commercial equivalents, with some design and manufacturing variations that reduce the susceptibility to this radiation damage.
This appears to be yet another example which not only ties to the associated physiological effects of these fields by their strength but also fleshes out the connection between the two, bearing in mind we are not dealing with simply material objects as my theory suggests, but rather a form of sentience that presents itself as an energy signature.

Field Strengths and Parabolic Waves

Measurement of ambient temperature  relies on combined effects of radiation, humidity, temperature and wind speed and of course this leads to another factor in the production of any effect and this has been the subject of a variety of such effects on living organisms. Weather conditions may play a role that has yet to be correlated to these anomalies in relation to EMF.
One might consider the parabolic waves of anomalous activity in this regard ( which we already know to be localized and transient) to be the result of amplification by local weather conditions.

Manipulated Plasmas and EMF

This will be a subject for the next post...

Metaphysicality: Autocells and Evolution

One of the themes that interest this writer that is reflected in the content of this blog is the self organization of living systems as it relates to evolution, which I last visited by posting a video by Dr Kaku on free will and physics, as well as in my own thesis of "Non Material Extraterrestrials" in terms of life requiring more and more complex systems as a developmental process which we share.

Here is a fascinating essay on same

Reciprocal catalysis and self assembly give each other a helping hand, as each produces what the other one needs. Reciprocal catalysis produces a local concentration of molecules, but without anything to keep them in place, they will soon wander so far apart that they will no longer be able interact. However, the local concentration of molecules is just what self assembly needs to build a barrier around the catalysts, thus encapsulating them.
"The very thing that you need to do to keep these independent catalysts together is what they produce as a consequence," said Deacon. "The result is that containers contain the stuff that is necessary to make them."

The Pretense of Contention

“The major problems in the world are the result of the difference between how nature works and the way people think”
― Gregory Bateson

It is evident to this writer that I have moved beyond the immanent into a realm of speculation unlike my peers who remain buried in a zoology of pretense. Neo-materialsm appears to be an overlay in relation to the research of anomalies that suggest otherwise. Science is a invaluable platform that is probing deeper into what I have termed intangible materiality. Whether we recognize spirituality and it's role in research, it is there none the less, beyond our current edicts and dogmas.
If I asked you to define Wahhabism or Salafism, could you? Yet this is at the core of Mideast conflicts.
Who has researched this as a platform in order to understand these conflicts?. An example of illiteracy due to a lack of context..

Whether we explore intellectualism, science or the arts, this impetus of the spiritual is evident regardless of how deeply it has been buried which represents the force of unanswered questions.
In my study of 11th Century metaphysics there appeared the use of logic to address spiritual questions, specifically in the renaissance that took place in Andalusia, Spain. Then there are the great libraries that preserve the recording of such efforts whose books are slowly succumbing to dust such as in the example of Timbuktu.

When I wrote the extended essay on "Non Material Extraterrestrials" it naturally occurred to me that to a great extent it would fall on deaf ears inasmuch as research into the invaluable knowledge gained from our forebears is missing from the platform of our considerations which then, in turn, leads to illiteracy if we do not know what past surveys of these questions are missing from a dialog in the present.
Most writers on the anomalous do not avail themselves of this basis of comparisons which seems to be driven by the neo-materialism of our predominant technological sciences.
It comes as no surprise that the example of the Roswell  conundrum as a road block or a hermetically sealed diversion is an apt example of a framework being hoisted by it's own pretard of materialism brought to bear on a subject matter that exhibits anything but a material basis in the classical sense.

Does it surprise us that so much of what we term the anomalous is deconstructive in nature?

The Zero In Light of Embryos and Transubstantiation

"Common experience is the gold reserve which confers an exchange value on the currency which words are; without this reserve of shared experiences, all our pronouncements are checks drawn on insufficient funds."
-Rene Daumal

Are you and I embryonic from another platform of perspective? We identify and translate by language in the triangulation of semiotics. In these relationships of experiential hexities, is there yet another relationship  that remains yet deeply buried to us? A relationship  that remains incommensurable to us? Are we in the process of using experiential transubstantiation as a bootstrapping exercise comparable to that of a fetal cord in a womb?
If our sustenance is a means, and not an end onto itself that unfolds as it is enfolded in a germination of yet another modality of sentience as a expansion of complexity it may be that our natural state being bewilderment is no surprise in this context. And yet we are encircled by pronouncements that seemingly do not recognize their own contingent nature.as a background to free will, like the amber that preserves a dead insect.
Everything in every state has to  considered in the light of the fact that even nothing is a something and this relationship is perpetually unfolding. There is no zero. Zero is an artifact that is a placeholder for an enigma that has no place in pronouncements and yet transactional relationships are formatted as a zero sum that is unaware we exist in a state of embryonic transubstantiation. This is indeed a species with high strangeness and we may represent a mutation from within this amber of neolithic culture that presents itself as trained monkeys riding bicycles.
Perhaps altruistic subversion of art  is called forth in response to this surrealism that is a philosophic underpinning of dialectic materialism no matter how infinitely miniscule its influence may be,
Do you think so?

The Science Delusion

An excellent article courtesy of the always interesting Fortean Times magazine that contains an in depth analysis of Rupert Sheldrake's views of "The Science Delusion" I was surprised to find how many of his views parallel my own.

The Snake Eats Its Tale

In the last post I responded to directly addresses a question from a reader of this blog. Why do you shy away from expressing your own anomalous experiences? Originally this reluctance came from detraction from the subject matter as I expressed this also in the last post in that frameworks can be like spider webs , like tools to catch sustain ourselves... but we end up becoming mesmerized by our own creations whether it is positivist intellectualism or the artist who created a role for his or her self in their creative universes. Despite this, I tried to provide examples in that post wherein I played a role of intent in other frameworks, more as a probe beyond that of a participant.
Where did all this begin for me? This is the final and second response to that query.
My own narrative begins in 1968.
At a young age, I became enthralled with the practice of  physical yoga. I was also fascinated by my contemporaries experimentation with with such pharmaceuticals as LSD. There was a certain band at that time, and a best friend at that time, whose sister was romantically involved with a member, who had access by way of a dentist to what was then legal commercially manufactured LSD by way of Sandoz. My friend Jim and I discussed the ins and outs of obtaining this mind altering pharmaceutical as well as our use of it.
In the midst of this, I ruminated the synthesis of physical yoga with this substance as an experiment. I was also influenced by Ouspensky's and Daumal's nascent experimentation's, both of whom I respected. I was wary, but not wary enough to shrug off this possible experiment.
On the night of this experiment, I made sure that I was both alone and in a safe environment, I think, also there was a sort of youthful romanticism at play then, akin to hanging by one finger atop a cliff.
I assumed a sitting posture with my spine aligned as straight as I could manage. All sorts of imaginative forms waxed and waned within me, as well as my own thoughts resulting from them which I attempted to keep at arms length. In a split second, I was no longer there or here, if you will as there as nothing comparable. What is a close description came decades later from a friend who is a forensic psychologist.
He termed this experience, a download. What I experienced was a series of interconnected but discrete environments. They are in order:
1. I was above a shining sea. Between myself and this sea was a white bird. A voice that encompassed me said "The universe is transformation and if that transformation should cease, the universe would be like the flight of the bird who turns to stone and fall into the sea."The bird did so, seeming to fall for miles.
2. I was at the periphery of a group of five individuals in the midst of a conference among themselves. Their faces were blurred. Everything else was crystal clear. They were perched on a platform or plaza between a series of steps that led to a odd temple or library like building. They were animated in their discussion just out of earshot. I gathered up my courage and approached one of them. "What are you discussing?"
"What to do about your species/"
They continued in their discussions as I stood among them. They either ignored my presence or were unaware of me, or so it seemed. One advocated a biological solution. Another.advocated a psychological solution. Another advocated that they owned this mistake and to do anything further was a worse mistake.
Another advocated an environmental solution to lessen the population. It seemed as if or I assumed they were speaking among themselves either during a break in a larger conference, or, prior to it, or afterward.
The one I approached said "See?"
My response was sufficient 'No"
His expression was one of mild exasperation..
"We have no physicality as you define it. Our solutions must by our nature to be indirect in relation to your species and yet your species by our own error pose a threat to a larger environment."
"If what you are is not physical, how can you affect anything?"
"One of us created a container that's like an artificial reference point that to your location is omnipresent, where we can navigate your universe." (at this point I am paraphrasing)
3. I watched as if watching a film or a simulation, a prolonged series of human tribal conflicts.Again a wrap around narrator that came from nowhere and everywhere spoke.
" In our world, all conflicts are resolved by art, expression and the result of this is a synthesis of creation, yet we like you are fallible"
4. I saw what seemed like differentiation of what appeared to be a synthesis of musical composition and light.Light as a channel. The closest visual equivalent are the animations that are presented as representations of fractals. Close but no cigar.
5. I was in a dreary swamp, humid, dark, fetid. A beam of light was shot into the dark dank still water. Within this beam there were evolving skeletal forms that were pulled upward, metamorphosing from simple forms to more complex forms.
6. This is hard to describe. It was a channel of reflected light between what were either stars or planets that were connected to #5 as above.

As if something had flipped a switch, I was back as disoriented and as miserable as I could be. I sought sleep which did not come for hours. The whole episode was in a matter of a second or two.

At this juncture, I must say that I do not advocate the use of drugs. What others do and do not do, outside of my opinion is another matter.I am both agnostic and intrigued by this experience, many a decade ago.
In the next post I will describe the aftermath and that will be the final expression of this episode. So, to my correspondent, I mustered the courage as Rilke said at the top of this masthead to communicate the strange as it personally set me off on a journey of doubt.
